Groomed, Tracked, Thin, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Rocky Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Calm
Main run is open off top. Better than expected. firm packed powder with very little ice. Beginner and lower intermediate runs are fine. Experts not so much. Wolverine bowl and steeps next to it are open -barely since the access along the ridge is rocky and almost melted out. They must have dragged in snow via snowcat. Wolverine area is rocky with brush and stumps but snow is not bad- almost packed powder since it's protected from sun. steeps along ridge have decent packed snow but access is dicey. Many Squaw skiers moved here since top of Squaw is closed.
I skied Alpine yesterday, Jan 21. No snow expected for next 7 to 14 days or longer. No crowds- almost deserted. |
