Was pleasantly surprised to find so much open and conditions were pretty good considering how little snow we have had. |

3/8 was a beautiful day at lovely Loon. From North peak to South, every run had packed powder. Crowds were there but with so many lift options the wait was never long. No ice, SUN, fast lifts - love loon. |

Finally a beautiful blue sky day after a decent dumping of snow. Little to no lines. Fresh pow to be had for all. Friendly helpers to carry skis and bags:-) |

First tracks on upper mountain was fabulous powder. That lasted about 1/2 an hour. Then quickly skied over. But pretty amazing for the first day of spring. |

Spring Conditions reported: 03/11/2013 at 3:55 AM EST

Groomed, Tracked, Wet Spots, Crowded, Calm, Sunny
Put your sun screen on as it's spring on the slopes and all the skiers were out this weekend! Great trail cover and even better snow conditions, only down side was the high volume of skiers at the lifts. Attendants did a decent job filling the chairs to capacity to keep the line moving. ONce on the slope it did not seem as crowded, able to move well with big turns in many areas. |

Groomed, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny
Cold start to the morning made surface a bit crunchy but the day warmed quickly and all trails softened nicely. Mostly granular surface with some powder mixed in. Overall nice conditions and small crowds. |

Groomed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Snowy, Making Snow
Today was my first day skiing in years, actually my 3rd time out ever. I had a grea day at Loon. There were enough beginner trails for me to enjoy and I even tried some intermediates. All were well groomed. I had a great time, cant wait to go back! |

Skiied today at Loon and the conditions were fantasic!!! Felt like it was mid-winter. Loon has done a great job making snow to have so many trails open so early. Skiied all day on so many trails and the lines weren't bad, trails were busy but good. It was a great day skiing!! :) |

Groomed, Tracked, Skied Off, Refrozen, Sun-Baked, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Wet Spots, Rocky Spots, Uncrowded
Had to get out again before seasons end to run some new skis & boots (great equipment deals out there!). Waterville is free this week but with only 5 advertised runs, sure it' more like 3, figured it was better to pay for a ticket and have a great day at Loon, whom listed 20 runs n Fri. It was a good choice as the trail conditions were a pleasant surprise. Governor's lodge was open and almost completely void of life, so one could have a drink on the deck and hear nothing but skiers a birds in the distance. With temps back down in the 20-30 a night the trails have firmed back up and good grooming had them in good shape. Few thin spots and a few rocks being kicked up but plenty of room on the trials to get aound the traps. No lift lines, enough open terrain to keep the whole day interesting and all the green skiers have moved on something else, so the trails are yours! |

Interesting good spring conditions with lots of people attending but only about half or less skiing or riding so trails were not crowded. The wet granular snow covered the open trails pretty well even though there were some wet, icy, bare spots here and there that could be avoided. The gondola wait line was mostly only a few minutes: as a single I could get on rather quickly on the single line. |

Refrozen, Wind-Packed, Uncrowded
Even though it was only 7 degrees, the man made held up until about 11:30. The mountain has done very well considering the lack of natural snow. guns going everywhere and conditions are improving. Get out early. |

Thin, Thin Spots, Wet
Loon had several trail choices so it was enough to keep the day interesting. Snow was ann man-made with a high moisture content so it was solid in some palces. Other palces the grooming was better. |
