Lots of folks in parking lots, but few people on the actual hill. The little snow on the mountain was quickly skied off. They are down to boilerplate on all open trails. By noon, the mid-fifties temperatures had turn the bottom into a gigantic pond skimming area and the lower/mid part of the mountain into mashed potatoes. The top skied ok even into the afternoon, but boilerplate was poking through there as well. These were April conditions, sadly in February. It's going to be a short season short of a weather miracle. |

Groomed, Tracked, Wind-Packed, Icy Spots, Crowded, Windy, Flat Light
Last Day of 2012- High Winds made for tough skiing first 1/2 of the day. Several lift were closed, only the valley chair, Sunnyside and T-bar were open. Holiday with a race going on made for crowded conditions in the lodge and at the lifts. Once on the hill the trails were in good spae due to the recent back to back storms, windblown in some area but it was nice to see snow in the woods! |

November 30, top to bottom! The trail was in great shape, and they were blowing snow all over the place. There's about a 1 inch base, so the man made snow is sticking well. |

Tracked, Skied Off, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Crowded, Windy, Making Snow
Only High Country is open, must download to get off mountain. Very crowded with ski racers. $35 adult lift ticket not worth price to ski 2-3 (really one!) trail. Lift line was long at the top but they did a good job keeping it running as fast as they could to move things along. If you are not a ski racer then I'd wait for more terrain to open up. |

Free Spring skiing on five trails and two lifts till 2:40: Exhibition lift malfunctioned and stopped. No waiting on the quad chairlift due to the few people skiing and boarding. One more day for free skiing and riding: tomorrow concludes the season.

What a wonderful day of skiing at Waterville Valley on Saturday 3/10 !
3-4 inches of fresh snow fell Friday night into Saturday. The crowds were virtually non-existent. The lift lines were short, except for a few times when the White Peak Quad took about 5 minutes in the queue. Staff were friendly everywhere we went. Kudos to instructor Tom Webster who took my son Thomas for 2 lessons - he had a blast ! Overall the trails held up well all day, though the most popular on the upper mountain were a little skied off by late afternoon, but this was to be expected. The competition going on in the terrain park area provided a nice distraction when we wanted a break from skiing.
Waterville Valley - LOVE it !!! We'll be back in 2012-13 |

Groomed, Refrozen, Uncrowded, Snowy, Making Snow
It was snowing all morning and the snow guns were blasting. A little chlly going up white caps with the snow guns lined up one after the other. Old T was amazing as usual. So was Tyler too.
They are making the best of having very little natural snow.
Started to warm up in the afternoon and got a little softer. Way to go mountain management. |
