Groomed, Uncrowded, Windy, Making Snow
Took a run up at Greek today. They have the main trails open, nicely groomed and plenty of snowmaking. The man made was some of the nicest powdery man made I've seen in a long time. Was nice to ride the humps on Trojan and they are finally making snow in the terrain park. Illiad, Elysian, Stoic, Kway and Odessy were the others open. Not a ton of trails. They do have a few more trails that were open yesterday for the holiday with chair 2 and 5 but those were closed today probably because not many people were there. Those were Mars Hill, Castor and the connector trails. I do find it strange the lift attendant at Greek has to check my pass every time I come to the lift. He has to physically touch it each time. With only 2 lifts open and no crowds you would think they wouldn't hassle you so much. Lift 4 didn't bother us much just took a look as you passed by. But, the guy at lift 1 is getting very annoying. |

Groomed, Refrozen, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Uncrowded
I went up to Greek this morning to get some use out of my season pass. The storm earlier did a nice job of getting them open because, they wouldn't be fully open on their own. They still aren't as they advertised with the terrain park but, don't be fooled. It is just the beginner park by the bunny hill. I got a look at the upper and middle parks. They are not even working on them and a lot of snow melted in the middle park. It will be a while before you see them officially open. However, it was a nice day with a primarily packed powder surface. Was finally able to ride chair lift 5 and get into the glade on that side and the steep black underneath the lift (two of my favorite runs there). Also snuck in runs underneath the powerlines alongside chair 4 and the unofficial glade alongside Elysian Fields. Both still had powder if you knew where to look. Aside from the occasional icy patch on the trails, the riding was pretty nice. |
