0" 20" Frozen Granular  reported: 12/23/2014 at 9:31 AM EST by Anonymous

Groomed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Sunny

Skied Wachusett on 12/22. The mountain was half open and the conditions were OK. Wachusett can get very crowded, but on this day it was great. Never had to wait to get on to a lift, and most people knew what they were doing so the lift only stopped once.
3" 36" Powder  reported: 02/18/2014 at 1:25 AM EST by Anonymous

Groomed

Wachusett has amazing conditions on every trail, powder at every turn. Presidents' Day brought the sun but also the wind so it was a chilly one but this did not stop the crowds from hitting the slopes. Be prepared to wait and wait some more, the lines are relentless here. No fault of Wachusetts, they move the lines the best they can , there are just a lot of fans of this mountain.

Tracked, Icy Spots, Crowded, Sunny

Skied 1.20. Really good conditions after the warm weather. These guys stay on top of their snowmaking and it SHOWS! If only they could solve the crowd problem, they'd have it all!
0" 36" Packed Powder  reported: 12/19/2013 at 3:27 AM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Deep, Thin Spots, Sunny, Making Snow

The whole mountain is open top to bottom with groomed and natural snow. Side trails have some nice bumps and have been left ungroomed for more fun. Not to be missed!
2" 30" Packed Powder  reported: 03/24/2013 at 3:48 AM EST by Norma

Groomed, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

This was like January or February skiing rather than late March. Base is deep, not frozen granular but soft packed powder. Windy but sunny, cold enough that the snow didn't go wet and lumpy within a couple of hours. Well worth digging those skis out once more this week!
0" 20" Icy Granular  reported: 03/16/2013 at 3:25 AM EST by Kelly

Groomed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Snowy

Skied Wawa on Fri 3/15. They are down to boilerplate/icy surface. Dust on top is uneven frozen granular snow that's been chopped up and moved around by the groomers. No dirt. The weather was cold, but on a sunny day warmer day, the conditions would probably be a little more forgiving and pleasant.
0" 24" Packed Powder  reported: 02/14/2013 at 8:15 AM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Skied Off, Thin Spots, Crowded, Calm, Sunny

Hard pack with a good cover of loose granular snow. In sunny areas, the conditions are spring-like, with everything loosening up and getting slushy. Valentine's Day wear red discount brought out the crowds, but overall an excellent bluebird day.
0" 24" Hard Pack  reported: 02/13/2013 at 7:12 AM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Skied Off, Refrozen, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Calm, Sunny

Some areas refrozen in the morning, but loosening up with use and sun. Steeper areas were getting skiied off early with soft bumps forming below. Lots of rough, chunky stuff until it softens up. Roper's Road is open - worth a run or two to check out the view.
0" 40" Packed Powder  reported: 01/07/2013 at 8:05 AM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Thin Spots

Groomed trails are like butter - quite possibly the best conditions so far this season. Tenth and Smith are perfect. Balance Rock and Upper Salamander are a little patchy, but okay if you keep your eyes open. Great day!!
2" 21" Granular  reported: 01/05/2013 at 6:18 PM EST by Charles Robinson

Thin Spots, Icy Spots

Great day of skiing. There were sum thin spits. Base areas that wee well used wee kinda bare. Park was decent. Enough snow to have a decent time. Overall not bad for this time of year
1" 18" Wet Granular  reported: 12/19/2012 at 12:34 PM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Thin Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded

Great early season skiing and riding. Morning to noon are ideal - great weather, no crowds, excellent freshly groomed trails. Still only five runs open, but worth the trip.
0" 16" Wet Granular  reported: 12/18/2012 at 2:41 PM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Thin Spots, Icy Spots

Conifer opened this weekend, the mountain is now open summit to base. Closed today due to rain, but will reopen tomorrow 12/19. Conditions have been surprisingly good for early season - granular to powder. Limited trails somewhat crowded, some areas skied off by midday.
0" 10" Wet Granular  reported: 03/16/2012 at 1:59 PM EST by Kelly

Untracked, Skied Off, Trashed, Icy Spots, Wet, Wet Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded

Only skied a few runs late Friday afternoon. Super slushy and messy. The rain earlier in the day didn't help the conditions. It's really looking like the end.
0" 20" Wet Granular  reported: 03/16/2012 at 12:23 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Wet Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Rainy, Flat Light

The wet snow made skiing a bit more difficult than packed powder demanding a little more muscle turning and flexibility riding over the ruts and bumps after the morning corduroy was rearranged by skier turns. Very few skiers and riders on the surprising number of open slopes. Grooming should make morning skiing doable for St Pats Day activities.
0" 36" Wet Granular  reported: 03/07/2012 at 1:02 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Wet, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny

WOTS BBQ brought a big crowd of early morning skiers that left at 1 PM. Skiing was good on wet granular that nicely covered all trails. Water began to show up at the bottom and a few other spots due to the 50 degree weather and bright sunshine. The big event on the slope was the air-bag for the brave jumpers.
0" 36" Frozen Granular  reported: 03/05/2012 at 5:03 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Sunny

Very few skiers due to the lack of busloads of kids. Frozen granular topped the hard base with some small spots of ice(easy to avoid). All trails were well-groomed and very smooth with little indication of recent freeze-thaw weather. No lift lines on any of the lifts. The nice sunny sky inticed people to sit out on the deck and soak it up. The only obvious sign of melting was at the bottom next to the deck(melting snow).
0" 30" Wet Granular  reported: 02/28/2012 at 11:55 AM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Trashed, Wet Spots, Crowded, Calm, Sunny

Lots of people watching the races and walking up and down trails nest to the race courses. Snow was wet granular most of the day for most of the trails in the sun and especially at the base. Uncrowded skiing off the Monadnock chairlift and Conifer and 10th Mountain while the races were in progress. With grooming tonight and new snow in the next few days the conditions should be best for the season on Friday.
0" 10" Wet Snow  reported: 02/17/2012 at 7:31 AM EST by Kelly

Groomed, Refrozen, Icy Spots, Uncrowded

I was on the slopes at 9AM. Very good coverage considering the lack of natural snowfall this year. The snow was a little wet and on the slow side. With temperatures rising to the mid forties, the snow started getting wet and heavy very quickly. It was mashed potatoes by 11AM.
0" 36" Packed Powder  reported: 02/15/2012 at 5:16 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Wet Spots, Uncrowded, Calm, Flat Light

Very warm day with a hint of drizzle and occasional snow flurries at the top. All trails had good cover with occasional, small, icy spots. The wet snow built up by the gates on the Challenger race course and resulted in some thin spots in the turns but grooming should fix that easily. Good skiing overall, even on some areas with wet granular.
1" 36" Packed Powder  reported: 02/13/2012 at 7:27 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

Just another great day on packed powder with a dusting of real snow. Very few people on the slopes taking advantage of really good snow conditions on all of the trails. Buses of school kids didn't arrive till about 3 PM so I decided to leave the slopes to them. The grooming was just great again so there was loose snow to ski on all the trails. The blowing caused some small drifting covering the corduroy surfaces of the trails.
0" 36" Packed Powder  reported: 02/08/2012 at 3:18 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Refrozen, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny

A mostly sunny comfortable day skiing on all the open trails. Roper's Road and Mass Pike still not open due to lack of natural snow cover. The hard, packed powder, base allowed the loose granular surface snow cover to be pushed into mounds as skiers made their turns. Making turns in the deep granular along the trail edges was very enjoyable. Regular snow-making and grooming is keeping the trails in very good condition.
0" 36" Granular  reported: 02/03/2012 at 1:12 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Refrozen, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny

All open trails had loose granular on hard base with a rare, occasional, spot of ice making skiing very enjoyable. Skiing the outer edges of the trails allowed cruising in ample loose granular t2b. The only closed trail was Ropers Road since we haven't had "real" snow in ages! School kids arrived at 3 to add traffic on the slopes but the lifts handled the loads very efficiently. Temp was in the mid-30's with very slight windy spots. Great skiing on well-manicured trails.

Groomed, Refrozen, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Uncrowded

Loose granular on hard base with a few icy spots due to yesterday's rain. Kids arrived at noon due to half-day school but lifts handled added load well. Some wind making topside cooler than trails below. Roper's road closed today while all others open and groomed though a few icy spots showed which were easy to avoid.
3" 40" Packed Powder  reported: 01/20/2012 at 3:53 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Sunny

25 degrees at the top under mostly sunny sky and light wind. Lift loading was controlled so the short lines constantly moved forward--almost like walking right onto the chairs. Roper's seemed the only trail closed. Balance Rock in great condition and fun to ski at both upper and lower portions. Salamander cutoff was also fun to ski. Great grooming on all trails leaving loose granular on a hard base.
0" 30" Frozen Granular  reported: 01/11/2012 at 5:51 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Tracked, Thin Spots, Uncrowded, Calm

Frozen granular covering a firm base made skiing enjoyable under partly sunny skies and uncrowded conditions. Trails were nicely groomed and widely snow-covered. There were very few thin spots with underlying ice. Challenger had some granular build-ups after some racing. Uncrowded before 3 PM when the busloads arrived.
0" 19" Frozen Granular  reported: 01/05/2012 at 4:21 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Uncrowded, Making Snow

New trails opening weekly with great cover and regular grooming. New Monadnock quad popular and moving skiers very quickly just like the other two quads. Park being readied for coming event and Smith Walton, and Vickery Bowl snowguns laying down lots of snow.

Thin Spots, Wet Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Flat Light

Spring like conditions, with wet granular surface, some puddles and bare spots. Conifer is the place to be, as Ralph's and Challenger are both pretty soupy. Warm, foggy and uncrowded.
0" 12" Wet Snow  reported: 12/22/2011 at 1:34 PM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Thin Spots, Wet Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny

Fantastic day, no crowds, great conditions (I like mashed potatoes!) Some bare and wet spots, but it sure beats the hard pack. Conifer was the place to be today - best snow, uncrowded and the view couldn't be beat.
0" 12" Packed Powder  reported: 12/20/2011 at 7:21 PM EST by Jim Klein

Groomed, Skied Off, Uncrowded, Calm, Sunny

Tuesday was exceptional on a warm, sunny, uncrowded day on the slopes. They reported packed powder which it was--good firm base topped with loose fine granular on all the open trails. The only trail with edge to edge cover top to bottom was Conifer. Some shaded areas of the trails were hard packed but very skiable.
0" 12" Hard Pack  reported: 12/20/2011 at 5:52 PM EST by Carol Fairbank

Skied Off, Refrozen, Uncrowded, Calm, Making Snow

Super hard pack under a few inches of granular. Some areas skied off but conditions are pretty good, and the trails are uncrowded. The new Monadnock lift is fantastic, and Indian Summer is open. Conifer is open from the top, and tenth looks like it will be ready soon.

Getting better ... Still only two trails plus Ollie's but tons of new snow on Conifer and Indian Summer.

Groomed, Skied Off, Trashed, Thin Spots, Bare Spots, Crowded, Sunny

Loose granular and hard pack in areas skied off. Still just Ralph's, Challenger and Ollie's but looks like they've been making new snow on Conifer and Sundowner. The new lift looks ready, just need snow!
0" 12" Wet Packed Snow  reported: 12/16/2011 at 4:10 PM EST by jim klein

Groomed, Thin Spots, Wet Spots, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

3 trails open with spring-like conditions. Good cover on open trails even though places were just half the full width. No waiting on the lift due to low number of skiers and riders. Low ticket price thru Dec 19. Staff very friendly and predict more trails opening soon as weather cools. Grand opening of new Monodnock chairlift with personal appearance of Doppelmeyer celebrity on Dec 18.
6" 10" Spring Conditions  reported: 12/13/2011 at 11:54 AM EST by Mariellen Perla

Groomed, Thin Spots, Uncrowded, Sunny

I skied there yesterday 3 trails opened top to bottom. Not too crowed. The slopes were mixed conditions. Power and ice. The weather was nice just like spring. $20.00 lift tickets until the 19th
6" 12" Hard Pack  reported: 12/12/2011 at 3:27 PM EST by Carol Fairbank

Groomed, Tracked, Skied Off, Crowded, Making Snow

Ralph's & Challenger open, making snow. With 1 chair and two trails open, crowds are dense and the surface got skied off really quickly - lots of hard pack on both. They've got a couple of box rails set up on Ollie's, and surface conditions are excellent.
2" 0" Area Closed  reported: 12/09/2011 at 3:22 AM EST by Carol Fairbank

No Trails Open, Making Snow

I can see some new natural snow on the trails, plus great nights for making snow - I'm crossing my fingers & forecasting Wachusett will be open very soon!
