Groomed, Thin Spots, Icy Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Sunny

Was a great day in the slopes! Always have a fun time here.
0" 30" Hard Pack  reported: 12/26/2016 at 3:36 PM EST by Kelly

Groomed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded

Crotched was open Christmas Day from 1-5pm so got in a few hours. Pretty decent conditions considering the rain episodes recently. They did a good job grooming the entire mountain to break up the frozen surface. It made for some VERY hardpacked conditions, but little ice. Very loud, scratchy snow, but we'll take it! Still need more natural snow to open more terrain or continue blowing some man-made.
0" 5" Icy  reported: 03/06/2016 at 1:53 PM EST by Kelly

Groomed, Tracked, Thin, Icy Spots

Skied 3.6 and it was pretty rough. Down to the boilerplate in many places. The groomers have very little snow to move around to keep things in shape. The top was very icy and lower mountain got that way as the day wore thin. Doubt they will stay open more than another weekend unless they decide to blow some snow.

Groomed, Tracked, Untracked, Skied Off, Deep, Thin Spots, Rocky Spots, Snowy

Also went the weekend before. Snow then was packed powder and frozen granular with some ice. V day weekend was powder but old powder so it was thick and heavy to turn in, but still beats ice, right?

Tracked, Deep, Uncrowded, Snowy

If you braved the snowy roads yesterday you were rewarded with some great snow conditions! Cold temps on the mountain made the fresh snow light and ohhhh so skiable! We skied late afternoon & evening so we could not get into the glades.......but I bet they are perfect today!
0" 0" Hard Pack  reported: 01/23/2014 at 4:15 AM EST by Denis

Groomed, Refrozen, Bullet-Proof, Icy Spots, Uncrowded

The deep freeze kept a lot of the folks off the slopes last night, seemed like only the ski clubs and race teams were on the hill. Lots of snow making going on. Piles of man made snow at the summit which was a bit grabby on the skis. Other areas very hard packed with some icy spots exposed in places.

Groomed, Refrozen, Wind-Packed, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Making Snow

Skiied on Friday and the conditions were great. Thought with the rain and warm temps the snow would be icy but the snow was frozen granular, some spots were icy but not many. No crowds during the day, we got in lots of fun runs! :)

Groomed, Icy Spots, Bare Spots, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

They are making snow and a lot of it! Loose granular over packed powder. They say they are 100% but more like 90% as some glades are closed however conditions are good considering the warm weather that we have had. Almost no lift lines and plenty of room for everyone!
4" 24" Powder  reported: 01/30/2013 at 3:46 AM EST by Jackie

Tracked, Uncrowded, Calm

Great conditions last night! Just a few inches of fresh snow made all the difference for some great skiing! Combined with more mild temps made for a perfect night to spend outside :)

Groomed, Tracked, Uncrowded, Windy

Break out the Artic winter gear and if you can bear the deep cold then you will have the mountain for you own! Must cover the skin, even the nose with a good face mask. Crothced has been making snow as soon as the temps took that dip so the thin spots from a week ago are all covered.

Tracked, Uncrowded, Calm

Great night skiing conditions! 4" of fresh snow that fell in the early hours made for great skiing all day. The night skiing was perfect with mild temps, no wind and few soles on the hill. The new Jupiter's Storm trail can't be beat with some fresh snow on top! It's my new favorite :)

The new high speed Rocket chairlift takes you to the new true 2,066' summit of Crotched Mountain in about 3 1/2 minutes, vs the old quad which took about 10. Opening day had two top to bottom runs that were actually in good shape and fun to ski. We expect more of the same tomorrow!

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

The cold kept the fair-weather skiers indoors today and did they miss some decent conditions. Crotched is still blowing snow at night and doing a decent job grooming so the tails are in nice shape.

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Calm, Making Snow

Warn nights make for great skiing under the stars at Crotched. With a solid base there has been ongoing snowmaking which has kept the trails in good shape. Some well traveled areas are showing ice but there is plent of granular snow on the rest of the trail to carve your turns around the those places.
3" 0" Powder  reported: 01/21/2012 at 3:31 PM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Flat Light

Wow with some fresh snow that added upto about 3 inches you'd think there would have been more people on the slope! Mother nature makes it best and that made for some better conditions today! Trails were well groomed with a little fresh snow on top. By midday there were some icy spots showing up but still plenty of good snow to get around the ice if you like.
0" 0" Packed Powder  reported: 01/15/2012 at 1:00 PM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Tracked, Icy Spots, Uncrowded, Windy, Sunny

If you added the extra layers and covered the face there were some good runs to be had to yourself! -4 at the summit with a light wind at 9am. The bring sun helped some. The snowguns were blowing on several trails taking making for some fun turns if you could stand the extra wind on you. All in all some good snow on the trails if you had good gear to keep you warm!
0" 0" Frozen Granular  reported: 01/10/2012 at 10:53 AM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Tracked, Calm, Sunny, Flat Light

Mild temps today made for soft easy turn snow conditions. Many schools were closed for election day voting! Two for one deal at Crotched made the day even sweeter. Few more kids on the slopes today but still no real lift lines. Most of the terrain is open where there is snow making.
0" 0" Hard Pack  reported: 01/09/2012 at 1:26 AM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Bullet-Proof, Crowded, Sunny, Flat Light

Overnight cold set the soft snow from the day before into hardpack. It was groomed but this also made for a lot of "cookies" being on the trail. A big air competition on Sunday brought in a larger than typical Sunday crowd but it made for a great show to watch from the chairlift.
0" 0" Wet Snow  reported: 12/31/2011 at 6:06 AM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Tracked, Uncrowded, Flat Light

Light on/off rain has kept the crowds away. Put the rain gear on and have the slopes to yourself! Trails are in great shape, soft snow to grab and make some quick tight turns in.
0" 0" Frozen Granular  reported: 12/26/2011 at 12:49 PM EST by Jacalyn

Groomed, Skied Off, Rocky Spots, Crowded, Sunny

Get an early start and there are no crowds. Most peolpe show up after 12 then it gets busy. Pluto's Plunge is open! All man-made snow but Crotched makes the best!
