Untracked, Uncrowded, Making Snow
Still can find untracked powder on the mountain if you know where to look two weeks after the major storms. The rest of the mountain is 100% open with varied conditions. Some wet melted spots on a certain trail. Ice near water drainage at the bottom of the hill. But, overall mostly packed powder that is nice to ride. Can't believe there are no crowds. It is like they save the powder just for me. Heard some people complaining they don't groom enough. Seems like they groom just enough for my liking on the beginner trails and down the main black. |

Untracked, Deep, Thin Spots, Uncrowded
Song is doing some nice promotions. Got a $99 season pass because I have a Greek pass. Heard they were getting a little more snow than Greek as well so headed there Sat morning 12/22. It didn't hurt that we knew Song had been closed and it was going to be fresh snow. We were first in line for the lift. A friendly worker warned us that the snow drifted to one side of the mountain. Some may have been disappointed that the main green trail was thin but, lucky for us it blew over towards the steeper trails. Very surprised to see the amount of snow that was there. There were thin spots from the wind but, there were also drifts up to my waist in spots. I even wished I had brought my powder skis. I have a few pictures, not sure how I can post them. On top of it all, no one was there. Never waited in line. Just a powder junkies dream. Fresh trails all day long. They were nice to leave it untouched. I'm sure they have packed most of it down by now but, they do have a base. And |
